As part of the SPE «Regional Lecturer» program framework, a lecture was delivered in Ukhta State Technical University (USTU) by Oleg Pozdeev who is an expert on labor protection, industrial safety and environmental protection. The theme was; "Construction of onshore infrastructures for offshore trunk pipelines". In attendance during the lecture were representatives from the USTU Oil and Gas Project Institute, staff and students of the university. The lecture provided an overview on the construction of coastal infrastructure/facilities for offshore gas pipelines, measures aimed at reducing accidents and injuries, as well as various industrial impacts on the environment. The lecture delivered was very interesting and useful. Attendees had the opportunity to ask the lecturer their questions which he answered satisfactorily.
Background: Oleg Pozdeev has more than twenty years of experience in the oil and gas industry. During that period, he worked in several Western companies and was involved in nine projects which attracted foreign capital. Oleg Pozdeev is familiar with all stages of operation in oil and gas corporations: from the design stage of fields to their commercial operation. Also, he was directly involved in the construction of four oil and gas refineries.
